When fitting your window with wooden window shades, you must measure inside the recess. To do this, measure the width and the height inside the recess. You will need to give the retail store or the manufacturer the recess size so they can determine the perfect fit for your window.
Another way you can fit your windows is outside the recess. This will work best if your walls, furniture and its surroundings are of the same color as the wooden window shades. You will need to measure outside the recess, usually up to a foot on each side and below that same amount.
There are three different ways to maneuver the wooden window shades and they are by cord, top down/bottom up feature and by motorization. The first option is of course the obvious. It is raised and lowered by pulling on the cord that comes with the wooden shades. The second option, Top-Down/Bottom-Up, allows a shade to be opened by lowering the top down or by raising the bottom up. The last option, motorization, requires a remote control to lower and raise the shades or by a timer that is programmable. You can set a specific time for your wooden window shades to open and close by using the programmed timer as well as tilt the lovers to a certain angle.

Door Curtains 2010, 2011
Curtains for your door can range from different sizes due to the type of door you have. There are curtains for standard size doors to French doors and can be made of fabrics such as panels or beads, depending on your style. You can let your creativity go wild with the many options you have when it comes to door curtains. If you are the traditional person, sticking to a simple solid color or a panel may be right for you. If you have a teenager or a younger child, door curtains can be made from records, wooden beads, plastic beads or bamboo.

You can choose the pattern and color of your door curtain to either stand out and make a statement or to match up with the color of the room you are working with. Getting the correct measurements is a must to ensure you don’t make any costly mistakes. Door curtains look great in thick fabrics as well as light fabrics and it all depends on the style you want to create. If you are not sure what color will compliment your room, most stores will have color swatches or samples for you to take home and try before making that final purchase.

If you are looking for a light look for your door, choosing a fabric made of lace or sheer panel may be the way to go. For a heavier look, especially if you have a thick area rug or carpet or a thick fabric table cover, you may want to go with a fabric that has 2 ½ to 1 fullness added to the curtain.
